Definition

The emergency management plan, EMP, is the creation of plan through which communities reduce vulnerability to hazards and cope with disasters

Objectives

EMP aims to estimate the risks of disasters, prepare activities which mitigate the consequences of predictable hazards, protect populations and property, and reconstruct the damaged places caused by disasters (International Federation of Red Cross and Red Crescent Societiescl). According to Emergency Management Framework of Canada, the management of emergencies concerns all hazards and risk management measures which can reduce the vulnerability to hazards.
